Double Fan Fun Fold Card

Published on 15 January 2024 at 09:00

The New Mini Catalog is live and Sale-A-Bration is ongoing through the end of February.  If you aren't familiar with Sale-A-Bration, with each purchase of $50.00 in product and you get to pick a Sale-A-Bration product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for free.   Don't miss out on all the goodies....There is so much amazing products in these catalogs.  Today I am using one of the free Sale-A-Bration paper packs called Most Adored (162976)  This is a specialty paper that has gold foiling on one side and the side I used is on the back.  It was hard to use this side because the gold foiling is gorgeous!  (Don't worry you will see cards with the gold foiling in the near future.)  I also used the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, Heartfelt Hellos(162964) for the greeting, and the Paper Pumpkin add on dies, The Love of Spring(164396)

I haven't ever made a double fan fun fold card before--so I thought I would give it a go!  I had so much fun making this card!  Give it a try!  Instructions and photos are below.

Have a Crafty Day!

Step 1- Cutting

Cut cardstock and DSP.

Basic White Cardstock 7" x 9"

Cut four pieces DSP Real Red (mini hearts) 1 1/4" x 3"

Cut two pieces DSP (Plaid) 1 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Cut one piece DSP (Poppy Parade hearts) 2 3/4" x 6 3/4"

Take the four (1 1/4" x 3") and cut as follows:

Cut two(2) of the pieces from top left corner to the bottom right corner

Cut two(2) of the pieces from top right corner to the bottom left corner.

Take the two ( 1 1/4" x 6 1/4") and cut as follows:

Mark the piece at 3 1/8" with a pencil mark.  Cut from the corners to the mark to create a triangle as shown in the picture.

Step 2 -Scoring and Burnishing

Score the Basic white piece (7" x 9") at 1 1/2", 3", 6" and 7 1/2"

The next score line is going to create your diagonal score lines. (Looks like an "X" when scoring is done.)  Count two score lines in from top left, score from that point to the bottom right of your cardstock. Then again from the second score line bottom right to the top left of your cardstock.  Repeat the same on the right side to create the "X" on both sides.

Burnish to two inner most score lines making mountain fold (as shown in pics below)

Burnish the diagonal score lines as shown in the pics below. Then, flip over the cardstock  and burnish the first score line from left and first score line to the right.  Turn your cardstock back over and your card should easily fold as shown in the first picture.

Step 3 - Glue Pieces to Card Base

Glue all the pieces to the card base as shown in picture.

Add a sentiment.  I used white embossing powder on Real Red Cardstock and then cut with the love of Spring dies, punched three hearts out of the scraps left and adhered them with dimensionals.

What did you create?  I would love to see what you are making!
