Hello, My Crafty Friends! It is another Scrappy Sunday here at Creative Impressions. I hope to inspire you to use up those scraps you have been saving for a rainy day. I had a lot of neutrals to use up this session of Scrappy Sunday so these make great masculine cards too.
I noticed I had a lot of 1 inch strips of DSP (Designer Series Paper) so I made what is known as "inchies" (1" x 1" squares) Then took a 1" by whatever the scrap is you have on hand (mine was 9"). Made a pencil line at the 1/2" mark on my 1" x 9" strip and started gluing my inchies at a diagonal as shown below. After I finished the strip, I turned over the strip and cut off the excess to give a unique strip for a card.
All the remaining cards were just random pieces of neutrals I had in my stash. I just wanted to share them with you so you may be inspired to by the layouts for your scrappy cards.
The next card uses five (5) scraps of 1" x 2 1/2" and is called a simple chevron fold. Take three (3) of the pieces and fold the top right corner over to left side. Then, on the remaining two pieces fold top left corner to the right side. The first image is the completed chevron fold on a card front. The second image is showing how to fold the scrap pieces. The third image shows how the three pieces are laid on the card front and the last image shows how the two pieces are laid on the card front. You can choose to not glue the folded pieces or to glue them. I glued them down on mine.
